  • Serves as information division for the departments of Central Services and Parks/Recreation.

  • Manages rental/lease contracts for Ashley Slater House, C.E. Weir Center, Central Square Complex, Heritage Station Museum, Martin Centre, Swimming Pool, Roundtree Center, park shelters, etc.

Meetings, Conferences, Trade Shows, Athletic Competitions, Banquet Facilities, Performing Arts Theatre . . .

With available meeting facilities of all kinds, the Douglas-Coffee County area has become a destination for special events, meetings, conferences, seminars, trade shows, and athletic events.  Located on Heritage Highway, US 441, approximately one hour from Interstates 75, 95, 16, this progressive South Georgia community offers quality facilities laced with traditional southern hospitality.


Ashley-Slater House

The Ashley Slater House is located on the corner of Ashley Street and Gaskin Avenue.

Built in the early 1900s, the two – story building has been designated as the Douglas Area Welcome Center. The first floor of the building is available for rental/lease for private events, small business meetings, receptions, and showers

C.E. Weir Center

The C.E. Weir Senior Citizen Center hosts numerous events for older adults.  The facility is also leased for special events, wedding receptions, family reunions, birthday parties, business meetings, and small conferences.  With a seating capacity of 225, this facility provided quality space and a caterer's kitchen..


Central Square Complex

The facility is located in historic downtown with over 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, including exhibit area and banquet space.  This facility can accommodate almost any size event.  There are four breakout rooms available for meetings, a large exhibit hall, and the capability of serving a capacity of 450 in a banquet style setting.  A caterer's kitchen is available for your convenience.  This facility also offers quality space for athletic competitions.

Heritage Station Museum

Built in the early 1900's, the old Georgia-Florida Depot has been restored and serves as the Heritage Station Museum for Douglas and Coffee County.  Throughout the years, the railroad has played a major part in Douglas' phenomenal success.  Step back in time and visit Heritage Station Museum.  Enjoy a look at the rich cultural assets of rural Georgia.  While you're here, visit the "Rose Tea Room" and take home a local souvenir.  Scheduled group tours are available.


Huckaby Softball Complex


This is an excellent place for tournament play featuring three lighted, 300-ft. softball fields, with 8-ft. fences and clay infields.  Paved parking surrounds the complex and connects with a large picnic shelter and playground all adjacent to a passive lake.


Roundtree Center

 Roundtree Center is located on South Gaskin. Open for youth leisure activities. Available for special events.

Martin Centre

This historic theater has been restored to its original 1940's art deco splendor.  In addition to its use as a performing arts center, the Martin Centre may also be utilized for large sales meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.  This facility includes seating for 750, three dressing rooms, theatrical lighting, sound system, and audio/visual equipment.

Parks, Pavilions, & Shelters

If you're an outdoor lover, we have many outdoor pavilions that are great for family reunions, outdoor weddings, birthday parties, picnics, or just a fun outing.  Many of the shelters are equipped with amenities such as cooking grills, restrooms, playground equipment, youth baseball fields, tennis courts, natural habitat, fishing, and walking trails. 

Swimming Pool


During the summer months, if it's something cool and fun to do your looking for, then we invite you to lease our city pool for a Summer Splash Party.  The City has set aside Saturdays and Sundays, during pool season, for time the pool can be leased for this purpose.  It's a great way entertain for a birthday party or just to have private swimming time.  At the pool you'll find a kids wading area with miniature water slide, and the pool itself has a 3' and 10' depth.
